Monks of Ethos is an online clothing brand that sells handcrafted khadi and linen garments. We designed and developed its online store, including a shirt designer where customers choose style details and give their measurements before they order.

Ordering a made-to-measure shirt online is different from buying a ready-made one. The customer cannot try anything on, so the store has to help them choose the fabric, decide on the style details and give accurate measurements, all in one clear flow. A normal product page is not enough for that.
Customers browse the shirt fabrics in a product grid and open a product page with the fabric name, colour, fabric code and product code.

Customers can add details such as a white collar and cuffs, contrasting buttonhole stitching and contrasting buttons.
Standard sizing uses height, weight, body type, body shape, size from XS to 7XL, shoulder type, preferred fit and shirt style, and calculates the sleeve length and shirt length from the customer's height. Custom sizing lets the customer enter measurements either from a shirt they already own or from their body, in centimetres or inches, with a step-by-step guide and video instructions.
Customers who register can save their measurements under a profile name and reuse them for later orders.
A special-notes field lets customers add instructions to an order.
Customers can check out as a guest or log in, with a wishlist, a shopping cart and a choice of currency between INR and USD. The store shows the card and PayPal payment options.

The front end is built with React JS and the back end with Laravel. React is well suited to interactive screens such as a shirt designer and multi-step sizing forms, and Laravel provides the server side that a store needs.
